About Chef Don
Donneil “Don” Flores, Senior Executive Chef, Food Glorious
Food, was inspired by his father, who was also a chef. When
young Don went into his dad’s kitchen, he thought all the
people working the line looked like superheroes.
His first career was as a pilot for a commercial airline, but
after two years of flying airplanes, he decided to pursue his
dream of becoming a chef. He moved to New York City, and
offered to work for free in Celebrity Chef Eric Ripert’s Le
Bernardin and Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill while he was attending
classes at the Institute of Culinary Arts. By the time he
received his diploma, he was a working sous chef in some of
the finest restaurants in the city.
His resume is impressive in its broad scope: he deigned
kitchens, opened a few dozen concepts, supervised hundred of
cooks, standardized production recipes to ensure consistent
quality and lower food costs, and consulted at Casa Pomona in
New York City, where he build the menu from the ground up as
well as designed the kitchen.
After eight years, he moved back to Los Angeles and was
executive chef for Katsuya for a couple of years before
relocating to Dallas, where he worked in prestigious kitchens
including the Adolphus and the Joule Hotels as well as several
well-regarded freestanding restaurants.
Chef Don is excited about joining our company and heading up
the largest off-premise catering kitchen in North Texas.
